Kids Fashion Show: Twin magic

Kids Fashion Show: Twin magic

Celebrate every milestone, whether it's small or big.

The time to celebrate my 1st milestone: 1 year anniversary of Fairyma online boutique. The excitement was at his peak. I had the idea to host a Kids Fashion show not only to showcase the versatility of my designs, but I wanted to connect with my audience, as well, at least from a local standpoint.

Just a few weeks before the show, I thought everything was set: date, venue, models, clothes and the like. And for a reason I couldn't explain I felt a sudden urge to post the event on a mommy group I had recently joined on social media. Although I had some reservations about posting my event on the group page (you know when you feel like you're hijacking someone's page :-0 I'm glad I did, though.

So, after posting the flyer, one of the moms expressed her interest in the event and I was glad to add 3 more beautiful princesses; more girls, more fun, right? (as a mom of 3 boys I'm always pleased to see lace and flowers). So it's Paige, 7 and the twins, 4.

I just couldn't resist the magical power of the twins, my incredible Ps: Paris and Payton. They are just incredible. Uniquely incredible. Twins are twins, we get it; they share a special connection, but I'm sure they also aspire to their own identities as they do have a heart, a mind, a character of their own.

Well, Payton and Paris are no exception. They share such a strong bond it's undeniable. Without words, you can see the connection they have; it’s almost as if they can ignore everyone around them for a moment. They don’t need to say much to each other, you can tell they trust one another and want to be in each other’s presence while maintaining their independence.

Payton is very decisive. As soon as she saw that shrug, she knew she wanted to wear it. Paris, too blew me away. Just like her name, she is sweet and has the ability to create her own magic; she is loving, charming and adventurous. Paris has autism and that didn’t stop her from being as excited about the show as were the other kids.

Although their mom and I were excited at the idea of having the girls participate for the 1st time in a Fashion show, she wanted to make sure that the entire flow of the show wasn’t compromised  and her girls were feeling comfortable as well. As parents, we are our children's first champions. They look up to us to find strength and confidence. I saw strength, dignity and felt nothing but admiration.

We can’t deny or be blind to the challenges, whether physical, emotional, social...that our children face, but we can make a conscious decision to empower them and teach them how to fulfill the mission and the purpose for which they exist. And I am so fortunate to have the incredible Ps be part of my show, part of my life.

I hope to encourage all the moms out there to let your child find their strength within their challenge. Believe in them for you will set the tone for how they position themselves in this world.

It has been one of the greatest joys of this journey so far. Thank you, Mini for the precious gifts you have given me.

Thank you, my sweet Ps, all 3 of you.:-*

Thanks so much for sharing your talents and gifts with our daugthers. Thanks for your prospective from the outside looking in seeing the world of autism along with being a mom of multiples. Our twins are both little miracles that have came such a long way. Seeing them take daily strides and growing up to become young ladies is more than a mother could ask for. Seeing them walk in their 1st fashion show was even more precious. You along with your hand crafted garments make others feel beautiful. Keep sharing your gifts and talents to the world. May God bless you in all your endeavors. Thanks for making this a special moment for all of us, and capturing it with such a heartfelt article.
